Big Sundin telling us how he got out of the B-17 when it ditched . . .




"When you fly a mission, the guns on the top turret point up, but when you're ditching, they point down . . . the pilot and co-pilot slide open the side window, and then slide out the window on their backs, grab onto the guns, and pull themselves up . . . from the top of they plane they can then get into the rafts that were inflated outside the hatch of the radio room."


I always wondered how, at 6" 4" tall, Roger was able to get out of that ditched plane -


Now we all know!
